Can my computer run Starcraft 2?

I understand my processor and everything else is fine, but I don't understand if my video card is good enough. It is an AMD Radeon HD3450 256 MB PCI-Express x16 RV620. I need to understand if I can run it so I don't waste 60 bucks on a game that won't even work. Thanks!

First off, I want to make it clear that my answer is purely theoretical. The short answer is NO.

The low end requirements for Starcraft 2 on the GPU side is a Radeon 9800 PRO. While this is an old card, it was a beast. IT had a fill rate if over 3 Gigatextels per second and a Memory bandwidth of 21 GB/s. The Radeon 3450 has a fill rate of 2.4 Gigatextels and a Memory Bandwidth of 8 GB/s.

The long answer is maybe. Blizzard games have always been kind to the lower end of specifications in the past. You have 256 MB VRAM, which might help on caching textures compared to the low end 128MB 9800 PRO, and your GPU is of newer design and might have other optimizations which make up for the lack of fill rate and memory bandwidth.

If it was me, I would at least wait for some substantial anecdotal evidence (people who hold a 3450 and say it runs fine) before I would purchase the game.
